The International Game Developers Association has named its new executive director, and it's a name that should be familiar to most IGDA members. Kate Edwards, the founder of IGDA's Localization SIG, is stepping into the role. She replaces Gordon Bellamy, who resigned earlier this year to take on a job at Tencent. Edwards led a geopolitical strategy team at Microsoft from 1992 through 2005 and currently works as a localization consultant, with game credits including Fallout 3, Mass Effect, Modern Warfare 3 and Dance Central.
