On Wednesday, Activision announced 007 Legends, a new console-based James Bond title that will celebrate the film series' 50th anniversary and "recreate a number of the character's most iconic moments from the silver screen." For this new game, Activision has handed development over to UK-based developer Eurocom, which also worked on the recent reboot of Goldeneye: 007 for the Wii, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. Activision says that the game will draw inspiration from six classic Bond films, including this year's upcoming release, Skyfall. The company did not confirm which, if any, of the numerous Bond actors such as Daniel Craig (pictured) will lend their likeness to the game. Since Activision acquired the rights to the Bond franchise in 2006, the series has seen a mixed reception from critics, generally earning modest review scores. Prior to landing at Eurocom, the license also moved between developers like Treyarch and the now defunct Bizarre Creations. 007 Legends is scheduled to debut this fall, and will be available for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
