Newsbrief: Activision said today that it has shipped $1 billion worth of Call of Duty: Ghosts to retail worldwide, as of the first day of public availability. While the company said it was too early to assess the sell-through for the game, Activision is hoping that sales will prove just as impressive as the previous installments in the series. Of course, the game may well receive a boost to sales when it launches with the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles later this month. Call of Duty: Black Ops II, the latest Call of Duty release before Ghosts, managed to reach $1 billion in sales in 15 days, while Modern Warfare 3, the title before that, managed that feat in 16 days. No doubt Activision will update us when Ghosts pulls in $1 billion itself.
