Amazon Appstore removes price restrictions on in-app purchases

Newsbrief: Amazon Appstore developers can now charge more than $20 for in-app purchases, given that parental control over the functionality is now in place. Amazon sent word to developers this week, as reported by TechCrunch, explaining, "With our parental controls functionality now updated, in-app items over $20 may now be submitted via the developer portal." Amazon introduced its in-app purchase support for Android games available via its Appstore earlier this month. This latest move is significant as an analyst report last year suggested that around 51 percent of in-game purchase revenue comes from purchases of $20 and up.
