Newsbrief: Last week Apple added an Indie Games Showcase to the its App Store in an attempt to more prominently highlight -- and sell -- the work of independent game developers. It's a long-overdue move, one that recognizes the quality of independent games and empowers their creators to highlight the work of their peers. Apple claims the Indie Game Showcase will change on a regular basis, and every time it does a different developer's work will be featured alongside a selection of games from other studios that they've chosen to recommend. The inaugural Showcase spotlights Device 6 developer Simogo and features a brief explanation of why the studio is noteworthy alongside a list of their games and their favorite games from other developers, including Lucky Frame's Bad Hotel and Taito Corporation's Groove Coaster.
