Japanese developer-publisher Bandai Namco wants to double down on Switch development after being impressed with the hybrid console's flying start

As reported by the Wall Street Journal, Bandai president Mitsuaki Taguchi seemed disappointed that the company has only managed to launch three Switch titles to date.

"We have put 3 games on the Switch and all of them are doing well," he said. "It's a shame, but we didn't think the Switch [would] be accepted this fast."

Moving forward, Taguchi seems keen to right that perceived wrong, and claims Bandai is working on three "big" Switch-exclusives titles for release in 2018.

Beyond that, the president explained all of Bandai's properties could eventually be brought to the Switch, making his admiration for the console crystal clear.

As for the system itself, the latest figures put global Switch sales at 7.63 million, and Nintendo now expects to shift 14 million units worldwide by March 2018.

If that happens, the Switch will have surpassed the Wii U's lifetime sales total of 13.56 million units in just one year on shelves.
