PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has become the second game in history to pull in over 1 million concurrent players on Steam.

The popular last-man-standing battle royale title hit the milestone today when exactly 1,028,540 million players logged in to test their wits against each other.

The all-time record still belongs to Dota 2, with Valve's ever-present MOBA racking up 1.29 million concurrent players in March 2016. It's unclear how long that record will stand, however, as Battleground's evidently has momentum on its side.

Just two weeks ago the game finally eclipsed Dota 2 to become the most-played game on Steam, and as the table below shows, its popularity hasn't exactly waned since.

The game recently surpassed 10 million sales, despite being an Early Access title that launched less than six months ago.
