BATTLETOADS: Behind The Scenes Video Reveals How The Team Was Able To Bring Back The Toads

Battletoads is a series that hadn't seen a new entry in over 20 years, when Rare and Microsoft announced that a brand-new game was currently being developed — which immediately made players excited; even when the teaser showed absolutely nothing more than the game's logo.

The first title in the classic beat 'em up series is still considered to be one of the most difficult video games ever made. The original Battletoads is a game so difficult, in fact, that most people who got the chance to play it haven't even seen past the third level; yes, we all know that we mean the hoverbike level.

For those of you wondering whether the new Battletoads will be as unforgiving as its predecessors were, fret not; the developers at Rare have already revealed that the new game will be difficult but achievable, so players won't get frustrated trying to beat the game.

Earlier today, Rare released a behind the scenes video for the new Battletoads, now that the game is finally becoming available in a little bit over a week, which sees Game Director Aunt Grand-Scrutton, Lead Designer Grant Allen, and Head of Licencing Adam Park revealing how the team was able to bring back the beloved toads.

It's been quite a while – 26 years, in fact – but at long last, the Battletoads are ready to morph, leap and smash their way back into the limelight for an all-new adventure helmed by Dlala Studios and supported by series creator Rare, a partnership first teased during E3 2018's Xbox showcase. Whether this is your first time encountering the warty warriors or you consider yourself a Battletoads veteran, you won’t have long to wait until the trio burst back onto the scene.

Battletoads will release for the Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass, and PC(Windows 10, Steam) on Thursday the 20th of August.
