Battletoads is a series that has been around for almost 30 years, with the first entry in the critically acclaimed, tough as nails beat 'em up series releasing for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991, and giving players one of the most difficult video games in history.
During Microsoft's presentation at E3 2018, developer Rare surprised fans of the Battletoads series by announcing that a brand-new entry was currently in development — which was pretty big news, considering that the last game released for arcades in 1994.
Now, 26 years after the last entry launched, Rare and Microsoft have finally released the all-new Battletoads, a direct sequel to the previous games in the series; this time being developed by Dlala Studios — who have given the beloved series a unique new art style that brings up all of the goofiness from the original games.
That's right! Battletoads has just become available today for Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass, and PC(Windows 10, Steam). In order to celebrate the occasion, the developers have shared a hilariously self-aware launch trailer that sees the Battletoads, being interviewed by Microsoft's Major Nelson(Larry Hyrb), who reveal some details about their new game.
