BEAT SABER Development Studio Beat Games Is Now Owned By Facebook; More Studio Acquisitions To Come
Beat Saber is a popular virtual-reality game in which the player must slash at blocks that come towards them to the tune of whatever song is playing. The musical game was officially released back in May for the Oculus Rift, Oculus Quest, HTC Vive, and SteamVR.

On the topic of the former platforms; Facebook recently announced (in a blog post which you can check out here) that they have acquired the studio behind Beat Saber — Beat Games. This means that the studio's focus will likely shift to Oculus platforms.

The blog post explains why they have specifically chosen to go after Beat Games: "Beat Games is a strong team with proven potential across VR, games, and music. With the resources and know-how that we can offer, Beat Games will be able to accelerate, adding more music and more exciting features to Beat Saber as well as bringing the game to more people."

This is far from the last studio that Facebook will be purchasing, as well, as the blog post went on to reveal that they're just getting started. "We’re exploring many ways to accelerate VR, and we think next year is going to be an incredible one of VR game launches and announcements. We are thrilled to have Beat Games join our team," said Oculus. "This is just the beginning."
