[Every week GameSetWatch editor-in-chief Eric Caoili rounds up the latest news/media for obscure and offbeat games from Gamasutra's sister site and alternative video game blog.] Over at our recently resdeigned alt video game blog GameSetWatch, we shared a number of fun stories from the past week, like new discoveries in EarthBound 15+ years after its SNES release, photos from China's Warcraft/StarCraft amusement park, and a $1 million Tetris auction. GameSetWatch's highlights from the last week: EarthBound Continues to Be Amazing - Depending on who you talk to, Nintendo's EarthBound is either an above-average 16-bit RPG or the greatest video game that will ever exist. A recent discovery about the thought put into the game's Escargo Express service supports the latter theory. Photos From The Not Quite Warcraft/StarCraft-themed Amusement Park - Only a few months have passed since rumors of World Joyland, the planned Chinese amusement park themed after Blizzard's World of Warcraft and StarCraft games, began popping up, but it looks like the venue has opened just in time for summer. Hakuoki, America's First Commercially Released Taste Of Otome - Many staples of the Japanese game market have crossed the ocean and found a small but dedicated audience, but a few still remain, like the country's "Otome" genre. Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom for the PSP could be America's very first Otome title. Bound: Tom Was Once A Man, Now A Spider - There's no gameplay in this teaser trailer for Bound, and the silhouetted visual style already seems well-worn to anyone who's seen Feist or Limbo, but the narration and presentation in this video for the "jump 'n run game" is enough to make you forget all that. Genesis Tetris Auction Starts at $1 Million - Tengen's Tetris story gets all the press, but the Sega-published Genesis version of Tetris is perhaps the rarest version of the game in existence. It saw an extremely limited initial release in 1989, and less than ten copies are known to exist today. One of these copies -- signed by creator Alexey Pajitnov, to sweeten the deal -- is now up for auction at eBay. Mega Man Legends 3 Has Been Officially Cancelled- The last time Mega Man Legends 3 was addressed, we mentioned how there was a good chance the project may never be fully realized. Unfortunately, that's precisely the case: the game has been officially cancelled.
