Best of GameSetWatch: From Peter Molydeux To The Simpsons

[Every week GameSetWatch editor-in-chief Eric Caoili rounds up the latest news/media for obscure and offbeat games from Gamasutra's sister site and alternative video game blog.] Over at our alt video game blog GameSetWatch, we shared a number of fun stories during the past week, including Peter Molydaux's survival horror/bowling concept, the Simpsons' visit to E4, and lots of Skyrim goofiness. GameSetWatch's highlights from the last week: Peter Molydeux Reinvents Gaming, Again, With "Cascore" Proof Of Concept - Twitter prankster @petermolydeux (purveyor of gaming satire; inspiration for high-concept Flash games) has finally bridged the gap between casual and core gamers. The solution? A survival horror bowling game, of course. The Simpsons Check Out Latest Games At E4 - In the program's opening minutes, Homer takes Bart and Lisa on a special Saturday trip to the Expensive Electronic Entertainment Expo, where they're amazed by all the latest titles and hardware from Protovision, Chalmskin Interactive, Electronic Crafts, and Funtendo. Skyrim Is Kind Of Goofy - It's reasonable to expect a game as expansive as Skyrim to have its share of oddities, and whenever a game attempts to simulate human interaction, something is bound to go wrong. As this example demonstrates, one particular Skyrim... uh, "feature," has a beneficial side-effect, in addition to being hilarious. I Wanna Be The Guy Source Code Released, Creator Calls For Community Update - I Wanna Be the Guy creator Kayin has released the source code for his infamously difficult action-platformer, in hopes of inspiring the creation of "a community backed, improved version." Now Android Gamers Can Die Alone In The Graveyard Too - Divisive Belgian indie studio Tale of Tales (The Path, Fatale) has announced that its 2009 IGF Nuovo/Innovation award finalist PC game The Graveyard is now available for Android devices. Jak And Poi Wants To Bring A New Twist To Rock, Paper, Scissors - Snickers Chamber wants to return to those days when kids would play Rock, Paper, Scissors, get bored with the standard loadout, and throw in all sorts of weird variants like dynamite, Superman, gun, Spock, west side, etc.
