BioWare Releases Dragon Age Legends On Facebook

Electronic Arts and BioWare have announced the release of Dragon Age Legends, a free-to-play online game based on their popular PC and console RPG franchise, on Facebook. The social game takes place in the same Free Marches setting as Dragon Age II, which released for Windows, Mac, Xbox 360, and PS3 last week. It's an online RPG that features character customization, an upgrade system, turn-based combat, quests, and co-op gameplay. Until March 31, 2012, players who have an EA account and complete specific quests in Dragon Age Legends can unlock up to five exclusive items in their PC or console version of BioWare-developed Dragon Age II. Dragon Age Legends was released under EA's Play4Free label and developed by EA2D, the publisher's internal studio dedicated to creating social and browser-based games. EA2D's previous releases include Dragon Age Journeys, Fancy Pants Adventures, and Mirror's Edge 2D. "We built Dragon Age Legends with one goal in mind: to bring the AAA quality gameplay BioWare is famous for to the social space," says EA2D's general manager Mark Spenner. He adds, "Dragon Age Legends brings true RPG combat and style to this massive social platform and delivers it at BioWare blockbuster quality, raising the bar for social games."
