Newsbrief: Blizzard raised over $12.7 million for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, leading to one of the largest donations the BCRF has received to-date. The sizable donation came from sales of both a limited edition Overwatch skin and charity-focused tee-shirts.

That skin, Pink Mercy, was sold from May 8 to May 21, with 100 percent of its proceeds to be pledged to the BCRF. But the way it was sold is notably a departure from how Blizzard typically sells in-game Overwatch gear as the Pink Mercy skin could be picked up for $15, rather than for in-game currency or in loot box drops.

Blizzard notes that the donation itself was the largest donation by a corporate partner the BCRF has ever received in a single year. Additionally, over $130,000 was raised and donated from 14 charity Overwatch streams hosted by streamers in the name of the event.
