Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is the latest instalment in the long-running first-person shooter franchise. It has been available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC since September 2019. However, some still haven't got around to getting their hands on a copy. For those, Infinity Ward and Activision have organised a treat.
From April 3rd until April 6th, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's multiplayer mode will be available for free. That is to say that, during the weekend, the multiplayer portion of the game will be playable for free and once the weekend is through it no longer will be. It's not a case in which you can download the game during a certain timeframe and then keep it forever.
How would you go about participating in the free weekend? Well, it's as simple as having the Call of Duty: Warzone free-to-play battle royale game downloaded. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's multiplayer will be accessible through that app. Specifically, the free-to-play event will kick off at 10AM PT on Friday and come to a close at 10AM PT on Monday.
All of your progress made during the free-to-play weekend, including purchased items, player rank, weapon rank, and Battle Pass progression, will carry over into the main game should you then choose to purchase it. What's more, any progress you've made in Call of Duty: Warzone will carry over into the free-to-play multiplayer weekend.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
