EVE Online's PlayStation 3 spin-off, Dust 514, will shut down on May 30, developer CCP announced today.
The free-to-play FPS will be turned off after three years in order to make way for another shooter set in the EVE Online universe of New Eden.
As a result, CCP won't be releasing the 1.3 update as previously planned.
Players will be able to continue as normal and spend Aurum - Dust's in-game currency - until the servers are switched off in May, although all PSN packs and purchases have been removed and disabled from the in-game marketplace and the PlayStation Store.
"We consider Dust 514 one of the best free-to-play offerings on the platform, but the years have caught up with us," read a CCP forum post.
"It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that Dust 514 will be shutting down on May 30, 2016."
CCP plans to give fans a glimpse of its new project at this year's EVE Fanfest on April 21.
