CD Projekt's The Witcher 2 Passes 400K, Coming To Xbox 360

CD Projekt's RPG The Witcher 2 is coming to the Xbox 360, the company said Thursday, also announcing that the PC version has surpassed 400,000 sales in its first week. The company describes the new version as an "adaptation, not a port," and says that it is re-tooling the game to make it the "best RPG for the Xbox 360 market." CD Projekt also announced a collaboration with Plastige Image Studio that will see Oscar-nominated director Thomas Bagiński (The Cathedral, Seven Gates of Jerusalem) providing video assets for the company, starting with a trailer released today. Bagiński also provided cinematic cutscenes to the first Witcher. "Working with Platige Image on the first Witcher game left us with a great impression," said game director Adam Badowski, adding that cinematic cutscenes "[add] considerably to the overall mood of the game." The Witcher 2 has received generally positive reviews from the gaming press, currently earning an average score of 89 out of 100 on Metacritic. The new Xbox 360 version is expected by the end of the year, and will be playable at E3 next week, the company said.
