COLLEGE FOOTBALL 26 Title Update #2 Releasing On Thursday; Full Patch Notes Revealed

EA Sports College Football 26 will recieve its second Title Update this week. EA confirmed the update will arrive on Thursday, and gave players an early look at the full list of changes coming our way.

The update will address numerous gameplay and animation issues across all game modes. The specific gameplay fixes include:

  • Fixed an issue where play art remained visible after the snap when using Home Field Advantage (HFA).
  • Fixed a rare issue causing a player to freeze in place during hit stick attempts.
  • Fixed an issue preventing stunts and twists from activating properly when selecting from the play-call menu in online games.
  • Fixed an issue sometimes preventing a catch animation from playing when clicking on and taking control of a WR during the route.
  • Variety of tuning and animation improvements to physics based tackling
  • Variety of game stability improvements.
  • Fixed an issue causing blockers on Power O plays to sometimes take their initial movement in the wrong direction.

In Dynasty and Road to Glory, the rain is finally easing up. The update will reduce the chance of rain in these games, while also fixing an issue where cold weather and snow could occur in warm weather climates during the College Football Playoff games. Other Dynasty fixes include:

  • Fixed an issue where starters who were Juniors could decide to transfer due to Playing Time.
  • Fixed an issue where only the IBL column was showing for fullbacks in Redshirt players spreadsheet.
  • Fixed an issue preventing players from entering free practice.
  • Fixed an issue where the game could freeze during overtime when playing the moments.

In addition to the new Dynasty fixes, EA is also rolling out the updates that were added last week to Online Dynasty files to Offline Dynasty. The major fix here has to do with Position Changes. You'll now be able to change a player's position within their current position group without a penalty to their skill cap.

For Ultimate Team, it's mostly quality of life improvements and the addition of new Leaderboar Campaigns and Event Lineup Building challenges. According to the patch notes:

  • Campaigns:
    • Leaderboard Campaigns are new, limited-time competitions tied to specific programs that will place you on a leaderboard with a small group of players, making every game impactful. These will be available right from the Ultimate Team main menu, and whether you prefer Head-to-Head or Solo play, your performance on key objectives like points scored or wins determines your leaderboard placement. These will vary with each program that campaigns are associated with and what you earn will vary depending on the tier that you unlock.
  • Event Lineup Building challenges:
    • We are introducing new types of events that will challenge players to build their best team within a set of team requirements, in order to enter program specific events. As well as an easier way for users to alter their lineups to meet these requirements.
      • E.G - Build your strongest ALL-SEC team and take on other players in the H2H Conference Clash Event.
    • Head to the Event screen to find information on currently active Live Events. From here, you can build your best available lineup for this event with a few button presses.
    • Directly from the Lineup screen, you will be able to browse which events are currently available and get information as to each event’s requirements. If your lineup meets the requirements, you’re good to go. If you have holes in your roster, it will be identified for you and you will be given paths to acquire the missing pieces.

EA SPORTS COLLEGE FOOTBALL 26 Releases Today; Here's What Time It Officially Launches

The College Football 26 Title Update #1 will release on Thursday, July 24th. The full patch notes can be found here.

Released earlier this month, EA Sports College Football 26 has received a more mixed response, as the nostalgia and excitement from last year’s installment have started to fade. Players have been more critical of some of the game's more persistent issues, including passing inconsistency, broken defensive AI, and frustrating kicking mechanics. Future patches may address many of these player frustrations, but for now these weaknesses hinder the overall gameplay experience.

That's not to say EA Sports College Football 26 is a bad game. In fact, it makes incredible strives over last year's entry, especially in terms of scheming complexity and presentation. I think last year's game had the benefit of nostalgia. Now that the series is a year old, players are a bit less forgiving.
