Unity kicked off its Unite Boston event today with a keynote presentation (embedded above) about a host of forthcoming changes to the company's game dev toolset, including new VR/AR dev tools, a Unity Cloud Build upgrade and a new cross-platform in-app purchase toolkit.

That last announcement is of particular interest to mobile game makers who rely on Unity but have previously looked to outside sources (including the Unity Store) for IAP solutions that work on multiple storefronts.

The new Unity IAP toolkit (slated to officially roll out with Unity 5.3 later this year) is part of Unity Analytics and integrates consolidated reporting and fraud detection directly into the engine.

In addition, the company has refined its VR/AR/2D development toolsets and expanded its Unity Cloud remote build system beyond mobile, so that it now supports remote builds that target desktop PCs -- including Windows, Mac and Linux platforms.
