Denuvo causes framerate/performance issues in Tekken 7 according to Katsuhiro Harada, fix coming soon

A lot of players have been wondering whether Denuvo actually causes performance issues in games or not. For the most part, it appears that it is not bring any additional performance hit. As we’ve reported, Final Fantasy XV has longer loading times (this pretty much happens in all Denuvo-powered games) but overall performance – excluding its degradation issue that was not caused by Denuvo – remained the same with the pirated, Denuvo-free version. However, that’s not the case with Tekken 7 as it appears that Denuvo actually causes performance issues in the latest version of this fighting game.

As Katsuhiro Harada claimed, the PC version of Tekken 7 currently suffers from a performance issue that is caused by the anti-tamper tech. This issue occurs when players use some moves and hit their opponents, like Akuma’s “Shakunetsu Hadouken”. Do note that this issue was introduced in the latest version as pretty much all previous versions worked perfectly fine.

Problem occurred in "TEKKEN7 for PC". that the frame rate drops when hits such as Akuma's "Shakunetsu Hadouken".
Since it's not a problem of graphics & CPU processing, it will not solve even if changing PC setting (problem with encryption program).
We'll fix Soon. Sorry Plz wait.

Harada then shared some additional details. According to its team, Denuvo is constantly updating, resulting in framerate/performance issues when players hit with specific moves.

Anti-tamper 3rd party middleware. It’s live updating programs and I heard “it’s fix soon” from them. We will check it and update.
Thx

And this is precisely why developers should avoid using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech. We are certain that both Bandai Namco and Denuvo will be able to resolve this issue, however one has to wonder whether such performance issues are also present in other, more CPU-heavy games, like Assassin’s Creed Origins, and whether these games would ran better without it.
