Dungeon&Fighter sets new record with 3M people playing at the same time

The game that claims the record for the most concurrent users online at the same time has hit a new milestone. The Nexon-published Dungeon&Fighter -- more commonly known as Dungeon Fighter Online in the West -- recently saw more than 3 million users online at the same time in Mainland China. Nexon says that the game has held the world record for the most concurrent users since it hit 2.6 million in June 2011. The company is saying that the game, which originally launched in China in 2008, saw a surge in users thanks to a major content update released in June. Three million is a lot of players. By comparison, the Chinese version of World of Warcraft, peaked with 1 million concurrent users in April 2008. Outside of China, the Tencent-owned League of Legends has reported numbers as high as 1.3 million. Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has boasted concurrent player counts of 1.4 million on Xbox Live alone.
