The countdown until EA Sports College Football 26 launches has begun. We're now less than week until this year's game releases, and while we still don't have full team ratings and player overalls, EA has revealed the top 100 players in the game. As part of the reveal, we now know who will be the best rated running backs in College Football 26 at launch.
12 of the top 100 players in EA Sports College Football 26 are halfbacks. The position is led by Notre Dame's Jeremiyah Love.
Rated 95 Overall, Love is not only the best running back in the game, but also one of the top three offensive players this year. He's behind only Ohio State WR Jeremiah Smith (98 OVR) and tied with Alabama WR Ryan Williams (95 OVR). Love is the full package with 95 Speed and Acceleration, 93 Agility, 92 Ball Carrier Vision, 92 Change of Direction, and 91 Break Tackle.
Behind Love is a three-way tie with Penn State's Nicholas Singleton, Louisville's Isaac Brown, and Washington's Jonah Coleman. All three players are rated 93 Overall, although there are some big differences once you look at specific categories.
Returning to Penn State as a senior, Singleton possesses both size and speed, making him one of the best running backs in all of college football. His 93 Overall is aided by 94 Speed, 93 Acceleration, 91 Agility, and 90 Awareness. Other notable ratings include 84 Carrying, 87 Break Tackle, 88 Trucking, 89 Change of Direction, and 85 Ball Carrier Vision.
Brown is another running back with explosive speed and agility, and is coming off a season in which he became the first Louisville true freshman to rush for over 1,000 yards. He boasts 95 Speed, 97 Accleration, and 96 Awareness, along with 96 Change of Direction, and 89 Carrying.
Coleman is a completely different player then the three aforementioned running backs, as he lacks their speed. He may not be terribly fast, but the is one of college football's most efficient runners. A 5-foot-9, 229 pound bruiser, Coleman averages 4.6 yards after contact per attempt and has a 35% forced missed tackle rate. This translates to 88 Speed, but 93 Break Tackle, 95 Trucking, and 97 Carrying. He's not terribly elusive, but he's going to pound the rock.
