EA: We'll never go 100% digital, or maybe we will

"We will never abandon physical media. As long as the consumer wants to buy something on a disc, we will be there to offer it."

- Electronic Arts COO Peter Moore tells Reuters that while the company is moving its business into the digital realm, it doesn't plan to abandon the retail market entirely. We've heard this before from publishers, but Moore's comment is particularly interesting considering that it was just a little over a month ago that fellow EA executive Frank Gibeau said it was "inevitable" that EA will become "a 100% digital company." No one can predict just what the future of retail video games will be, but you'd think a company as well-positioned in both the physical and digital worlds as EA would at least have a unified vision among its executives.
