Back in October, Epic Games filed individual lawsuits against two Fortnite players it claimed were cheating in the online game and, as a result, violating the game's Terms of Service.
While one of the two suits was later discovered to have been filed against a minor, the other lawsuit has now been resolved through a settlement.
TorrentFreak reports that the lawsuit against Charles Vraspir will not move forward. Instead, the two parties have reached a settlement agreement that, in short, forbids Vraspir from repeating his past behavior and levies a $5,000 fine against him if he violates that agreement.
Specifically, the injunction would bar Vraspir from carrying out future copyright infringements, assisting other players with copyright infringements or cheats, creating or distributing cheats, violating Epic's Terms of Service or End User Licensing Agreements, and cheating in any current or future Epic titles.
At the time of the settlement (and for as long as he adheres to the proposed injunction), Vraspir isn't required to pay a fine by the courts. However, if he violates those rules or any other restrictions laid out in the injunction, Vraspir would be required to pay Epic $5,000 in damages in addition to attorneys fees and additional monetary relief at the court's discretion.
