EVE Online is still growing, ten years later

Newsbrief: Subscription-based space combat MMO EVE Online has reached a 500,000 subscriber milestone, months shy of its tenth anniversary. The game's continued growth might be a head-scratcher for those who have followed the subscription decline of games like Blizzard's World of Warcraft or EA's Star Wars: The Old Republic, but according to CCP, this is because the game doesn't produce the same kind of easily-consumable story-driven content that most traditional MMOs do. Instead, the company says, its expansion content tends to focus more on creating new tools for players to interact with each other -- in both good and bad ways -- so that new experiences emerge naturally.
