A number of staffers at Burn Zombie Burn developer DoubleSix have split off from the studio and are now working on Strike Suit Zero, one of Doublesix's previous in-development titles, with consent from Doublesix parent Catalis SE. Doublesix founder James Brooksby has started Born Ready Games alongside other former Doublesix staff, and the studio is now working on the space-action game that Doublesix was previously in control of. Brooksby said that he has a mutual agreement with Catalis SE for his studio to continue work on the title. Born Ready Games has also secured funding for the continued development of the title. Dominic Wheatley, CEO of Catalis, explained, "We wish Born Ready Games and Strike Suit Zero all the best, and are looking forward to seeing the result of a project we have been so closely involved in." Strike Suit Zero, which puts players in a space battle to save Earth using a transforming fighter vehicle known as the 'Strike Suit', will be released for PC later this year, and for consoles in early 2013. The studio's founding comes as Doublesix, an internal label of Kuju Games, all but eliminates its internal development staff. The company tells Gamasutra that a core team of three developers remain to support and possibly expand existing titles Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? and All Zombies Must Die!, but all other internal development staff have either been let go from the company or have gone on to other roles within Kuju. "Doublesix was always set up to be primarily a publisher," Kuju's Brett Morris tells us. "It's our belief that we can deploy capital more effectively using external developers."
