Former CD Projekt Red developers Chris Hardwick and Dan Cordell have pulled back the curtain on Wickerman Games, a UK-based indie studio built around the principles of transparent game development.
Hardwick and Cordell - who met while working at CD Projekt Red, where they spent a significant amount of their time together playing and running pen and paper role playing games - have over 15 years of industry experience under their belt, founded Wickerman Games to "make the games nobody seems to be making."
What's curious about this particular set up is the duo's eagerness to take a "warts and all approach to development," with the pair promising to share as much spoiler free content as they can during production, giving interested fans "a front row seat into the game development process."
The studio's first release will likely be an old-school pen and paper RPG that draws inspiration from the likes of Traveller, World of Darkness, Shadowrun, and Dungeons and Dragons.
Employing lessons learned while at CD Projekt Red, Hardwick and Cordell have promised that all Wickerman titles will be DRM free, and will come with a "substantial amount of post-release support."
