Facebook hoping to make games more social with new Groups beta

Newsbrief: Facebook announced this week its App and Game Groups beta, which allows developers to create Groups within their games or apps so Facebook friends -- and non-friends -- can connect around a specific app activity. It's part of Facebook's efforts to help make social network games an actual social experience. "Game Groups help make games more social and engaging by creating another place where users can interact with each other. Group social dynamics help with retention and monetization," Facebook said in a document explaining the concept. Facebook has more information on the new update.
