Alongside SXSW, Facebook has announced that its F8 event -- last held in 2011 -- is returning to San Francisco this April, reimagined as a "pure developer conference" according to the company's blog post announcing the event. While previous F8s have focused on a mix of developer and consumer content, including new product announcements, the new F8 will have four tracks on building apps and games within the Facebook ecosystem, including talks on Facebook's Unity integration and its Parse tool. The topics covered will include "getting started guides, technical best practices, infrastructure strategies, engineering deep dives, and advertising tips for making your app or game highly successful," according to the Facebook blog post. No further details on specific speakers or topics are yet available, Gamasutra can confirm. The conference will be held on April 30, 2014 at the San Francisco Design Concourse. Registration will open soon, though Facebook has not earmarked a specific date. If you're interested in the event, you can keep tabs on it on Facebook to be notified when that happens.
