Square Enix surprised fans of the Final Fantasy series by announcing that a bunch of the classic titles in the long-running, and critically acclaimed role-playing series were being re-released; from all-time classics to Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy X, to other less popular titles like Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon.
Among these games, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles was one of the titles that got most people's attention; after all, it is one of those games that not every fan of the Final Fantasy series has been able to play, since it was released as a Nintendo GameCube exclusive, and has never been re-released on other platforms.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition is actually the last of the Final Fantasy games that Square Enix revealed to get a re-release, and this was all the way back in September of 2018, so players have been patiently waiting for the game to finally become available.
The good news is that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition has finally launched today, becoming available for the PlaYStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, and even on iOS and Android devices, so now players who have not had the chance to play the game have virtually no excuses.
It is important to remind players, however, that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition has done away with some key features that may tarnish the experience. The game's multiplayer does not support neither locally nor offline gameplay, and to make matters worse, Square Enix also confirmed that online multiplayer mode will be region-locked.
Whatever Square Enix's reason was to not include those features in 2020 isdefinitely disappointing; even more so when considering that one of the original Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles' main selling point was co-op gameplay. With that said, the new game has been graphically enhanced, and now it looks better than ever.

Now that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition has finally become available today, Square Enix has shared one last gameplay trailer that shows off all of the features that have been added to this remastered version of the classic Nintendo GameCube title.
