Sony's annual Days of Play event is set to kick off this week on May 28th with planned community activities, PlayStation Store sales, and new content for PlayStation Plus, which includes your monthly free PS Plus games.
June's PS Plus offerings will include four games available for all membership tiers: NBA 2K25, Alone in the Dark, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, and Destiny 2: The Final Shape.
NBA 2K25 is the latest installment in 2K's annual basketball video game series. Developed by Visual Concepts, it was released in September and represents the 2024-2025 NBA season, which is actually coming to a close. The NBA is now in the Conference Finals portion of the playoffs, but that doesn't mean you still can't enjoy months of NBA 2K25. Check out what the game has to offer and, who knows, maybe it will encourage you to dive into NBA 2K26 when it releases later this year.
Alone in the Dark is the 2024 reimagining of the 1992 survival horror. Set in 1920s Louisiana, the story follows private investigator Edward Carnby (voiced by David Harbour) and Emily Hartwood (voiced by Jodie Comer) as they explore Decreto Manor to uncover the mystery of Emily's missing uncle.
Step inside Derceto Manor, an asylum shrouded in intrigue, guarding a terrible secret. Client Emily Hartwood and private investigator Edward Carnby embark on a harrowing quest for answers; Emily to the mystery of her missing uncle, Edward to the toughest case he will ever face, and both to questions they dare not ask themselves.
Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is a cel-shaded action-platformer that serves as a spiritual successor to SEGA's Jet Set Radio. Set in a future world, self-styled graffiti crews battle each other for control of the streets.
Red is a graffiti writer who lost his head and instead uses a cyberhead to get around. In search of his roots he joins the Bomb Rush Crew, Tryce and Bel. Together they decide to go All City, to become the best graffiti crew in the city. The more territory they gain, the more they discover who it was that cut off Red's head and how deep his human side is linked to the graffiti world.
We're being treated to a fourth game in June: Destiny 2: The Final Shape. Released in 2024, Destiny 2: The Final Shape was a major expansion that served as the culmination of the decade-long "Light and Darkness Saga." The expansion sent Guardians (players) into the heart of the Traveler, known as the Pale Heart, a surreal landscape influenced by the Guardians' past memories and experiences.
Despite the conclusion of the "Light and Darkness Saga," there's still plenty more to Destiny 2's narrative. The "Fate Saga" is the next major narrative arc, and it will continue with the upcoming expansion, "The Edge of Fate," in July 2025. With The Edge of Fate coming soon, it's no surprise that PlayStation and Bungie are looking to drum up hype by making The Final Shape free now.
NBA 2K25 and Bomb Rush Cyberfunk will be available for PS5 and PS4 beginning June 3rd, while Alone in the Dark will only be playable on PS5 on June 3rd. Destiny 2: The Final Shape will be free to claim beginning May 28th an will be playable on PS5 and PS4.
