Gamification gains traction as Badgeville raises $25M

Newsbrief: Gamification Frameworks developer Badgeville has raised $25 million in funding, signifying the notable interest from investors in gamification solutions. Badgeville aims to help studios measure and influence user behavior more easily by "gamifying" industries ranging from retail to healthcare. The company said today's round of funding was led by InterWest Partners, bringing total funding to $40 million since it launched 20 months ago. Industry firm M2 Research estimates that the gamification market will have reached $2.8 billion in the U.S. by 2016, while Gartner Research believes that more than 70 percent of the Forbes Global 2000 companies will have a gamified application by 2015.
