Sucker Punch's upcoming open-world sequel Infamous 2 will implement a user-generated content system, allowing players to create their own campaign-like missions and upload them for other gamers to try. Chris Zimmerman, development director at Sucker Punch Productions, revealed the feature on the European PlayStation Blog. Players will have access to all characters, creatures and props from the main story mode to create whatever type of mission they desire. Zimmerman noted that "There’s a whole city to explore [in Infamous 2], and we provide lots of stuff to do in the city … but no matter how many missions and mini-missions and systemic opportunities and branching story lines we add to the game, eventually the story ends." "With user-generated content, Infamous 2 players can build new missions, then share them with the world." He made the point that "There really aren’t a lot of limits to the sorts of missions you can build." Players can create all-out action scenes, or opt to design a stealth-only mission. These user-created missions will then appear randomly in the game world as if they are regular story missions. Players can approach a spot and read more information about a mission before attempting it. Sucker Punch will be keeping an eye out for any particularly fun or clever missions, and promoting a select number to the 'Featured Missions' list. These missions will then appear to every player. A public beta of the Infamous 2 user-generated content is set to start in early April, and details on how to sign up for the beta will appear on March 14.
