Just under a month after we last heard about the PlayStation Suite, Sony on Tuesday provided a more cemented roadmap for the rollout of its Android-based SDK. In a talk at GDC Online (as reported by Joystiq), Sony Computer Entertainment's Shigeru Sugimoto said that the public SDK release originally announced for November will instead be a limited beta "tech preview." The preview will include the PlayStation Suite's core tech, the Android version of the suite, and a PC-based Android simulator. What the preview will not include is support for additional platforms, most notably the company's upcoming PS Vita handheld. That support will come during an open beta period, the date for which has not yet been announced. During last month's Tokyo Game Show, the company said that games created on the PlayStation Suite SDK will be available on "PlayStation Certified" devices -- including Android-based phones, Sony's upcoming PlayStation-branded tablets, and next year's PS Vita -- starting in Spring of 2012. The SDK supports C# as its programming language, and is a play by Sony to attract new developers to support its family of products. Interested developers can sign up for the closed beta here.
