A demo for All in! Games' parkour-infused, first-person, cyberpunk action game, Ghostrunner, is now available. The demo can be downloaded through Steam until May 13.
Arriving alongside the demo is a brand new cinematic trailer, setting the tone for the new cyberpunk runner. At its core, Ghostrunner is a fast-paced cyberpunk action game in which you run, dash, and slash your way through a great tower-city torn by violence, poverty, and chaos. Ghostrunner has been compared to a number of already popular games such as Mirror's Edge, Titanfall 2, and Dishonored 2, seemingly drawing elements from each.
The emphasis seems to be finesse and quick reaction speed, no doubt making Ghostrunner a prime candidate for speed runs. As a cyber-warrior, you'll leap through the air, run on walls, and use the grappling hook to scale this superstructure and obtain the power to challenge the Keymaster.
Mixed with all of this parkour movement are moments of action in which you can slow down time to help set up your attacks. With the bullet-time mechanic, you can dodge enemy attacks and align yourself to dash and slice through enemies.
Blood-thirsty enemies, an environment full of deadly traps, virtual reality overlayed on top of real space—all this and more awaits you as you make your way, level by level, towards the top of the tower. Your high-tech blade slices through flesh and metal, delivering gory one-hit kills. Bullet-time mechanics give you an edge in fast, high-adrenaline combat. Unique cybernetic skills help you cope with enemies and an environment that can end your life at any moment.
The Ghostrunner demo is now available on Steam. The game is set for launch sometime this year for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
