Google has made inroads into the Chinese eSports market by investing in Beijing-based mobile game live-steaming platform Chushou.

As reported by TechCrunch, Google joined as an investor during a recent Series D funding round, which brought Chushou's total lifetime funding to $120 million.

The U.S. internet giant offered financial support alongside previous investors Qiming Venture, Shunwei Capital and Alpha X Capital.

It now hopes to bring Chushou, which launched back in August 2015 and now has over eight million unique streamers, to other users around the world.

"Chushou has built an impressive platform, with a dedicated and quickly growing base of content creators and consumers, and smart expansion plans," said Google's principal of corportate development for North Asia,  Frank Lin.

"We're excited to be supporting Chushou through this investment to help them execute those plans, bringing great mobile gaming content to more people around the world."
