Halo Infinite will launch without Campaign Co-Op, PC Splitscreen & Forge

In a new Development Update video, 343 Industries announced that Halo: Infinite will launch without Campaign Co-Op or Forge. Not only that, but the PC version will not support splitscreen.

As the game’s creative director Joseph Staten said:

“Unfortunately, as we focused the team for a quality experience for launch, we made the really tough decision to delay shipping campaign co-op for launch, and we made the tough decision for delaying Forge past launch as well.”

343 Industries plans to add Campaign Co-Op in Season 2, and Forge in Season 3.

It’s also worth noting that the team acknowledged the underwhelming PC performance of the technical build. These optimization issues we’ve reported were mainly due to a misconfiguration in the .exe file. 343 Industries stated that by simply fixing that issue, the game saw a 20% performance boost.

Lastly, there is still no exact release date. Microsoft and 343 Industries still claim that the game will release in Holiday 2021.
