Middleware maker Havok announced today the upcoming launch of the Havok Strike Program, which will offer basic access to the company's suite of products for a reduced cost. The new offering, which will be officially unveiled at Lyon's Game Connection event on November 15, is targeted at developers making smaller budget and casual titles pegged at a smaller price point, Havok said in a statement. "We are excited to be supporting the industry with a business model that allows development teams with limited game budgets to innovate using our industry leading technologies and tools," said Havok Managing Director David Coghlan. While precise pricing and feature information for the program were not immediately available, the company said Strike Program participants would be able to purchase access to any or all of Havok's full suite of middleware products, including AI, animation, physics, cloth behavior and desctruction modeling tools. Participation in the program will also include access to Havok's technical support infrastructure, the company said. "We are delighted that Havok has listened to the needs of the game development community and designed a solution that allows the 'budget conscious' developer to take advantage of their products as well," said Jose Sanchis, managing director of Lexis Numerique, one of the first companies to sing on for the program.
