Hitman Dev IO Interactive Licenses Cloth Simulator Shroud

Hitman series creator IO Interactive has licensed cloth simulator Shroud from CloakWorks, the company said. Shroud will be used for real-time dynamic interactive clothing and soft-body physics effects in the company's upcoming game Hitman: Absolution. "Shroud allowed us to reach new creative heights with Hitman: Absolution. It was quick and easy to implement into our engine and tool chain, and it really helps Agent 47 look good in his suit...and you know how good Hitman likes to look," said game director Tore Blystadt in a statement. Hitman: Absolution is the fifth title in the Hitman series, and the first since 2006's Blood Money. The main engine powering the game is IO's proprietary Glacier engine, which was also used on last year's Kane & Lynch 2.
