Horizon Firbidden West was one of the pleasant surprises that PlayStation had in store for fans of Guerilla Games' critically acclaimed Horizon Zero Dawn, especially since it has been confirmed to be a sequel to the first game, and not an expansion of any sort.
In a video that has recently been posted on PlayStation's official YouTube channel, Guerilla Games' Mathijs de Jonge — who is also dei director for Horizon Forbidden West — has revealed a bunch of interesting details about the upcoming title; including a tentative release window.
First things first, de Jonge confirms that Horizon Forbidden West is the rightful sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn, and that players will be traversing a vast open world that makes the world in the first game smaller in comparison; giving players freedom to explore post-apocalyptic versions of real-world locations.
As made very clear by the announcement trailer for the game, Horizon Forbidden West will feature some breathtakingly beautiful landscapes, but this shouldn't make players releax when exploring the world, since there's danger lurking in every corner.
Mathijs de Jonge also reveals that Aloy will come across other tribes; some welcoming, and some that will be hostile. interestingly enough, hostile tribes have learnt how to override machines, so this will make them way more difficult to fight against.
Last but not least, the video reveals that Horizon Forbidden West will not be a PlayStation 5 launch title, as the developer is aiming to release the game at some yet-to-be-determined date in 2021.
