Hyper Scape is a free-to-play battle royale game developed by Ubisoft Montreal. It's set in 2054 Neo-Arcadia. It's a virtual world quite akin to the Oasis from Ready Player One. Players do battle and compete against each other in a sport known as "Crown Rush." The new cinematic trailer does a good job setting up the action-packed and colorful world.
During the recent Ubisoft Forward digital conference, Hyper Scape was showed off and Ubisoft promptly announced that the game's open beta is now live on Windows PC via Uplay. What's more, Hyper Scape will also be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year — specifically "this summer." It's unknown whether Hyper Scape will make the jump to the next generation.
"Hyper Scape is an urban futuristic free-to-play Battle Royale where 100 Contenders engage in FPS close-quarters and fast-paced matches to become the next global superstar."
During Ubisoft Forward, the publisher didn't only share an awesome cinematic trailer, which you can check out below (via Ubisoft North America), but also a gameplay trailer. What's more, console players can unlock battle pass items early by tuning into Hyper Scape livestreams on Twitch — more on that below (via @HyperScapeGame):

The game will be coming to PS4 and XB1 this summer.
If you watch Twitch streams during PC Open Beta with the Twitch extension, you'll unlock the items in the Battle Pass. Unlocked rewards will be on your account when we launch console this summer.
