The National Videogame Museum in Frisco, Texas has received a $4,000 grant from the IGDA Foundation, the charitable arm of the International Game Developers Association, that will be used to help cover the costs of visits by Title One school students.
It's a notable effort by the IGDA Foundation, especially since students attending Title One schools often come from low-income families and may face extraordinary circumstances which make it difficult to visit the Museum.
The grant will help fund an already discounted admission program for students wishing to visit the Museum, which earlier this year also launched a quartet of $1,500 scholarships aimed at helping women, local residents, and Title One school graduates start careers in game development.
Devs and educators who are interested in arranging for a group of students to visit the museum are encouraged to reach out directly via email.
