Pay-what-you-want service IndieGameStand is branching out with a permanent marketplace feature, and is offering a competitive 75/25 revenue split to draw in developers. Now live through its website, IndieGameStand's marketplace claims a quick (1-2 day) turn-around on approvals and full control over DRM (if applicable). The marketplace is also designed to accommodate distribution of alpha and beta keys, Steam or Desura activation, and linkups to Steam Greenlight or crowdfunding pages. In short, it's designed to tailor to individual developers' needs. Of course, the unusual 75/25 revenue share is likely the most eyecatching feature for many developers. Co-founders Dan Liebner and Mike Gnade tell Gamasutra the 75/25 split is an evolution of the previous short-time deals, where developers, IndieGameStand and a charity of the developer's choice would split revenue 70-20-10, respectively. "Since these marketplace sales don't include the charity option, we just split that part down the middle," Liebner explains. In an increasingly crowded marketplace, Liebner and Gnade say they see IndieGameStand as a service to promote smaller titles often overlooked through services like Greenlight. Its top seller to date is Muse Games' Guns of Icarus Online, which saw over 7,000 sales in a three-day period.
