Intel releases Graphics Performance Analyzer tools with tablet, smartphone support

Newsbrief: Intel has released a new version of its game developer tool suite, Intel Graphics Performance Analyzers (GPA) 2012, with support for smartphones, tablets, and Ultrabook app makers. The graphics performance analyzer tools were previously available for only PC platforms, but Intel has expanded its support, and intends to update them for Android-based devices some time this year. Intel's free GPA tool suite includes a System Analyzer for identifying potential bottlenecks that can slow down performance or affect graphics, and a Frame Analyzer for showing the visual and performance impact of individual elements in real time. The suite also has a Platform Analyzer that visualizes the performance of application tasks and their effects on devices, and a Media Analyser that shows how effectively an app uses hardware-accelerated video encode and decode in real-time.
