Journey dev looking beyond PlayStation for future projects

Thatgamecompany's PSN-exclusive Journey could be the developer's final game built only for Sony platforms. With its exclusivity contract with Sony due to expire, the company is now looking for ways to expand its potential audience. "Thatgamecompany had a three game contract with Sony, so the past three games had to be Sony exclusive. Right now we are very much exploring ways to bring our games to a bigger audience, beyond just PlayStation," company co-founder Jenova Chen told Sony-focused gaming site Push Square. Chen added that thatgamecompany is still negotiating its future projects, so the studio cannot officially confirm any of its games will head to platforms outside the PlayStation family. Thatgamecompany's community manager offered additional information on NeoGAF, noting that flOw, Flower, and Journey are all Sony properties, and thus will not receive ports to other platforms without Sony's permission. "As for what we'll work on next, we aren't going to announce what will happen until we announce it, so you'll just have to play the waiting game. We are very excited about this new game, just like with flOw, Flower, and Journey," the forum post said. Journey will officially debut in North America via the PlayStation Network on March 13 for $14.99.
