Game service provider Keywords is working towards the acquisition of game testing juggernaut, VMC.
The Irish outfit has signed a conditional agreement with VMC's parent company Volt Information Sciences, and is looking to purchase 100 percent of the company for $66.4 million in cash.
It's the latest in a long line of purchases for Keywords, which hopes to unite the games service industry under one banner.
VMC specializes in game testing, localization, and QA, and currently employs over 1300 people across the U.S. and Canada.
"We're thrilled to announce the acquisition of VMC, which represents an important milestone in our strategy to selectively consolidate the fragmented video games market and generate synergies through scale in certain services and geographies," commented Keywords CEO, Andrew Day.
"VMC is an organization we've admired for several years for its reputation, scale and high quality service as well as its attractive embedded technical services and crowd-based testing services.
"We realize the benefits of combining our complementary services and locations into what we believe will be a compelling offering for our broadened client base not only in North America but also internationally."
The acquisition will be Keyword's largest to date, and is expected to be completed on October 30, 2017.
