Kickstarted Oculus Rift VR headset devkit delayed into 2013

Newsbrief: Oculus Rift, the virtual reality headset that pulled in nearly $2.5 million in Kickstarter pledges earlier this year, has been delayed into the new year. The developer kits for the headset were due to be sent out to backers before the end of 2012, but the team has now released an update stating that these kits will not begin shipping until March 2013. The headset promises a new generation of high fidelity virtual reality -- full-on digital immersion that places players in the worlds created by game developers. Although numerous major studios have expressed interest in implementing the hardware into their games, the company behind the headset believes that indie developers will be key to the initial success of the device.
