Kinect Sequel To Top-Selling Zumba Fitness Set For February

Majesco Entertainment has announced a Kinect-based sequel to last holiday's top-selling Zumba Fitness is being targeted for release next February. The Zoe Mode-developed Zumba Fitness Rush will introduce new dance routines, dance styles, and features like a calorie tracker to the original November 2010 release, a surprise hit that has sold over 3 million copies sold so far. The new Kinect title will also include celebrity choreographers and downloadable dance tracks and routines through Xbox Live. Zoe Mode also took over for original series developer Pipeworks Interactive in developing Zumba Fitness 2, a Wii-bound sequel due in November. Majesco has yet to announce a follow-up for the PlayStation Move version of the original game. The original Zumba Fitness has jumped on and off NPD's top ten monthly new retail sales charts throughout 2011, and the game spent ten straight weeks atop the British sales charts this summer. The original game's success was responsible for 70 percent of Majesco's revenues in the first three quarters of its fiscal year, according to public filings.
