Newsbrief: HAL Laboratory, the Japanese studio known for fan-favorite games like Kirby, Super Smash Bros., and EarthBound, has opened up a new division specifically dedicated to mobile game development.

In a tweet spotted by Siliconera earlier this week, the company revealed its new mobile development house, HAL Egg, to the world. Aside from a name and logo, not much is known about the new division but HAL did note that the team’s first, yet-unannounced mobile game would be released in Japan this coming Fall.

The storied game developer joins the ranks of other long-running studios that have turned an eye to mobile development like the longtime mobile nay-sayer, Nintendo and, recently, the publisher Paradox Interactive
