Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night was released in June of last year on home consoles and PC, giving players the chance to play a spiritual successor to Konami's long-neglected Castlevania series.
This new game is actually produced and designed by Castlevania's very own Koji Igarashi, so fans knew way before hand that this new intellectual property of his truly was in good hands — and their trust was definitely not misplaced.
While there were some drawbacks down the line, particularly with the Nintendo Switch version of the game, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night does give players the proper Castlevania experience they've been clamouring for.
Today ArtPlay's Koji Igarashi has shared a video in which he revealed that Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has reached an important milestone, as the game has managed to sell over 1 million copies across all platforms; a goal that the studio had aimed for very early on.
Igarashi has also thanked everyone that has made this possible, as well as publisher 505 Games and developer WayForward. Furthermore, Igarashi has also revealed that the developers have planned to release even more content for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, and that players should expect it in Q1 of 2020.
Give it a watch:
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is an exploration-focused, side-scroller action RPG by Koji Igarashi. Play as Miriam, an orphan scarred by an alchemist's curse that slowly crystallizes her body. Battle through a demon-infested castle and defeat its master to save yourself, and all of humanity!
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC(Steam).
